For nearly twenty years, Lucie Betz has been offering workshops and
classes in Butoh and performance art. In recent years, she also developed VISION BUTOH, a collective creating performances both
indoors and outdoors—strengthening the essence of Butoh, encouraging
personal creativity and exploring the power of group work. Alongside, she regularly teaches Profitraining for the dance community in Freiburg.

Her work is infused with the spirit of the clown, fostering freedom,
inspiration and playful vulnerability. This lightness brings humour, imagination
and openness to her teaching, complementing the depth of her Butoh practice.

Lucie also curates encounters with international artists, such as
Joan Laage, creating a platform for Butoh in Freiburg and offering a space for exchange, research and community.

Calm Inside, Ready for the Storm
A journey through presence, movement and the infinite landscapes of the body.
"What if we danced to remind ourselves of the vastness of our humanity?"

In these Butoh classes, we dance as if it would be the very first time—without preconceptions, simply by being present.

Through a dialogue of free improvisation and precise exercises, we awaken hidden potentials and allow the body to shift into different qualities
and rhythms, becoming a canvas for shadow and light, stillness and flow.

We take time to connect deeply within, opening to nature’s subtle presence, letting ourselves be carried by its inspiration. Awareness sharpens. We learn
to welcome pauses, emptiness and stillness—the spaces where Butoh unfolds.

Breath and presence moves us closer to the in-between—the infinity and unknown, in search of a humanity that may have been forgotten or lost.
These workshops balance collective exploration with the deeply personal solo journey.

Open to everyone.
